Overview
Actril® Cold Sterilant is a stabilized mixture
of peracetic acid, hydrogen peroxide and
acetic acid, which leaves no toxic residue.
For two decades, Actril® Cold Sterilant
continues to give clinics everything
they could ask for in a surface disinfectant.
Actril is a powerful broad spectrum
disinfectant that is safe to use,
environmentally friendly, leaves no toxic
residue and is thoroughly proven in
hundreds of clinics.
Accuracy and Validation
Surface Disinfection – Actril® Cold Sterilant is a ready-to-use surface disinfectant,
which is extremely effective, even in high bio-load environments. Unlike bleach,
which quickly “deactivates” in the presence of organic material such as blood,
Actril® Cold Sterilant chemistry continues to form peracetic acid even as it works
to disinfect. Actril Cold Sterilant does not leave a toxic residue
Machine Disinfection – Actril® Cold Sterilant has been successfully used for two
decades for the disinfection of dialysis machines. Today, Actril® Cold Sterilant
continues to be the ideal chemical for machine disinfection: effective against even
the most resistant organisms, biodegradable, ready-to-use and safe.
Several dialysis machine manufacturers have recognized the benefits of using
Actril® Cold Sterilant and provide instructions for its use in their equipment.
Additional information is available by contacting Minntech Renal Systems.
Reduces Scale Deposits – Actril® Cold Sterilant contains acetic acid. Acetic acid
has been used for decades to reduce or eliminate “scale” build-up (precipitated
calcium and magnesium carbonate) when used on a regular basis. Actril Cold
Sterilant also breaks down after use, leaving little residual that could interfere
with safe machine operation.
